AMTIL - Industry Skilling for Employment (ISE)
Manufacturing companies across Australia continue to experience significant difficulty securing CNC technical staff with appropriate industry ready skills
Following the recent success of the Australian Manufacturing Technology Institute (AMTIL) Skill-Up and Placement project 2006/2007 which placed over 120 participants into employment nationally, AMTIL is facilitating a new and enhanced training and employment project which will deliver CNC trained workers across Australia. Courses will run between September 2007 to September 2008 and primarily targets mature aged, long term unemployed and return to work participants. All potential participants will be screened and interviewed prior to training being undertaken and progress will be monitored.
The project aims to:
• Skill-up job seekers nationally to a minimum Cert I/maximum Cert III Engineering Production, with a focus on CNC operation and setting.
• Provide relevant industry work experience opportunities.
• Provide mentoring support and assistance.
• Provide the opportunity for employers to have involvement in training participant selection, industry information sessions and training content.
• Provide placement assistance for job seekers into successful and sustainable employment.
We would like to encourage you as employers to be a part of these excellent programs. Register your interest in providing work experience, employment for these participants or to become involved in providing industry advice or assistance during the ISE project.
