Based in Melbourne, Victoria, the Australian Manufacturing Technology Institute Limited (AMTIL) is a national body that represents the interests of companies specifically in the machine tool, precision engineering and ancillary equipment sectors - whether they are manufacturers, importers or distributors, or general manufacturing technological companies.
The mission statement of the Institute is 'to educate and support our members to build a more successful Australian manufacturing industry.' In support of this commitment, AMTIL has developed a range of services tailored specifically to its member's needs.
Publications
AMTIL publishes Australian Manufacturing Technology Magazine. A market leader, this magazine is distributed monthly to 10,000 key industry contacts. AMTIL also issues monthly newsletters to its members, keeping them up to date with relevant industry issues.
Exhibitions
AMTIL owns and operates the Austech trade exhibition, the major machine tool and manufacturing technology exhibition for the Australian market. Austech provides a unique forum in which to generate activity between companies exhibiting manufacturing technology and visitors interested in expanding their horizons.
Events
In addition to the Austech exhibition, AMTIL hosts regular general meetings, seminars, conferences and social activities. AMTIL also provides low cost travel and accommodation to a number of international exhibitions relevant to the machine tool industry such as JIMTOF, IMTS, EMO and MACH.
Other Services
AMTIL provides other services such as recruitment, executive search, an HR advisory service and an apprenticeship matchmaker program (YouthLink). AMTIL also encourages its members to participate in the various sub-committees that it operates, including education and training, statistics, safety and business development committees.
