The Additive Manufacturing Network (AMN) was established in April 2014 through the combined efforts of AMTIL and CSIRO. Its vision is to provide an industry driven collaborative network of organisations and individuals that will foster and grow the additive manufacturing sector.

Membership of the AMN is free for individuals to join. Benefits of the AMN are outlined below and further activities and services provided to Network Members are provided on a fee for service basis.

Communication between Network Members is administered through a variety of mechanisms
- Interaction through the Additive Manufacturing Network Linked In group
- Access to the AMN Website and social media platforms
- Regular AMN Bulletin
- Quarterly AMN e-mag / pdf

AMTIL will administer the Network, which has the followed goals and objectives
- To expand the knowledge base of the AM sector
- To provide a forum for open communication
- To encourage R&D, innovation and collaboration
- To provide a voice to Government on AM sector development
- To market and promote AM sector capabilities

There are many and varied activities that will be available to Network Members. These include
- Networking functions
- Events, exhibitions and conferences
- Plant visits
- Access to Government funding mechanisms
- Access to reports,

Recent Happenings
There has been a significant number of actions over the past eighteen months by Network Members including
- Launch of the AMN at the 3D Printing Conference and Exhibition in July 2014
- Launch of 3D Central in October 2014 More information
- AMTIL/CSIRO National Educational Forums held in five states in August/September 2014
- A forum on Medical Manufacturing held at RMIT’s Advanced Manufacturing Precinct in October 2014
- Practical Engagement with Additive Manufacturing at RMIT’s AMP in November 2014
- Opening of the ARC Hub at the Monash Centre for Advanced Manufacturing in November 2014
- Series of three Workshops administered by AMTIL in December 2014 with a Core Team of Network Members to develop a current Market Analysis Report
- The Additive & Digital Manufacturing Pavilion was held within Austech in May 2015
- AMTIL, with Meckler Media, ran the 3D Printing Conference in May 2015
- Tour of CSIRO Lab 22 by Network members in August 2015
- AMTIL became a Foundation Member of the Innovative Manufacturing CRC in August 2015, allowing Network Members access to research funding through the IMCRC Portal
- Official Opening of CSIRO Lab 22 in November 2015
- Series of Workshops conducted by IMCRC in November 2015 to determine research capability for the AM sector

In addition to these activities there have also been a significant number of other events held by organisations including CSIRO, RMIT, Swinburne, Monash and others that Network Members were invited to.

Future Plans
There are currently a number of benefits planned to be available to Network Members
- AMN Website with access to information relevant to Network Members
- New communication streams through social media and e-news
- Focus sessions for Network Members to give feedback on next stages of a Strategic Implementation Plan and other activity
- AMN Networking Day in April 2016
- 3D Printing Conference and Exhibition in Sydney in May 2016
