   Next Generation Workforce

Shanti Krishnan is the manager of Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing vocational education department of Swinburne University of Technology.

Through her work as the manager of Engineering, she is engaged in providing industry solutions and providing work force training to Engineering industries, Australia wide.

Her recent accomplishment is the design and implementation of Industry 4.0 Associate degree pilot apprenticeship program funded by the Prime Minister’s Industry 4.0 task force. For this project she has collaborated with Fraunhofer Institute, Stuttgart University, Aalborg University, Siemens, Germany and FESTO, Germany. This program is run in partnership with AIG (Australian Industry Group) and SIEMENS, Australia and has 18 students who are all employed by Siemens, Australia.

She is a member of accreditation and reference committees as an Industry 4.0 expert in education and training.  As a Secretary of the Victorian Electrotechnology Senate she has co-ordinated national Engineering training packages.
She is also involved in research, design, and implementation of instrumentation in the dark matter research project, Stawell Underground Physics Laboratories (SUPL). This is an international collaboration and the first of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere.
